I randomly came across a review on Instagram about a month ago, of a Kiehl’s Micro-Peel that helps resurface your skin and gives you a smooth skin texture. Although, I’m always scared to try something new, afraid that it will make me breakout again, I did my due diligence to find out that many people actually noticed a decrease in breakouts with the use of this product, as well.

I swear by most The Body Shop products and they really have improved the appearance of my acne scars and breakouts. I was skeptical of this new (expensive) product that I bought and felt I was betraying Drops of Youth, that I had been so loyal to, as it really did wonders for my skin.

I feel whenever I try a new product, first my skin develops little white heads and then get rids of all the dirt and impurities in my pores. This is what I like to believe, because eventually it clears up.

Today, I can proudly say I have come to work with no foundation or tinted moisturizer on. This is a huge thing for me. My skin is oily and prone to acne and breakouts, and over the last three years I have on and off suffered from severe acne, which left behind its marks.

Finally, the reason I would recommend the product is mainly that it has left my face feeling extremely soft. I love putting it on before bed and waking up with softer skin. For it being a peel, it is pretty mild. I would highly recommend using a sunblock, as it is a peel afterall.

What I say: I’ve been using this for just over two weeks, and can already see a difference in the texture of my skin.

The formula looks quite thick, like a serum, but goes almost watery when rubbed into the skin. It absorbs quickly without leaving any sticky residue, so settles well under night cream.

I’m not a fan of the initial scent, which is a bit clinical and plant-y (if that makes sense?!), but this does die down into nothing after a few minutes.

I was expecting it to make my skin dry after a few days, as is the case with most refining formulas, but this didn’t at all. It left my skin soft and radiant, which, I guess is the idea.

I think this is perfect for this time of year – in between seasons when skin tends to play up a bit with the change in temperature. I don’t think my skin needs it permanently, and will probably only use it for another month or so, but I’ll definitely haul the bottle out again in spring!

If your skin is very rough (sun damaged, older or generally just a bit crepey) this will be a great fix for you. Depending on how much texture correction you need, you may need to use the whole bottle to get the desired result.
