We’ve finally got an opening date for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland, Sleeping Beauty Castle will get a new look for the 100th anniversary, and we’ve got all kinds of details about the 100th anniversary celebrations coming to Disneyland. But now we’ve got more details that could impact your trip planning.

According to Disney, theme park reservation availability for Disneyland Resort’s theme parks (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park) is currently PAUSED for all dates past January 8th, 2023. But, it will resume again soon.

When we went to Disneyland’s Park Pass availability calendar, we did notice that park pass availability is only shown through January 8th for 1-park-per-day ticket guests…

The Magic Key pass calendar only appeared to show availability through January 4th.

It appears tickets are also NOT for sale after that January 8th date as of this moment.

Does that mean big changes could be coming to the park pass system? Not necessarily. It doesn’t appear that park passes will be going away just yet. Instead, as we noted above, Disney has shared that the park pass reservation availability will “resume” in the coming weeks.

This is a very different situation compared to Disney World, however. For Walt Disney World, park pass availability is actually already shown through January 2024.

If you are planning to go to Disneyland in 2023 past that January 8th date, know that hotel reservations do still appear on the Disneyland website. We didn’t click to actually book the hotel, but we did see hotel availability listed for dates beyond January 8th, 2023. And the online system appeared to allow us to add tickets to our hotel reservation to purchase a vacation package.

Again, we did not complete this reservation, so it’s unclear if some changes would be made when finalizing the package.

Keep in mind that according to Disney reservation availability beyond January 8th should resume soon. We’ll be on the lookout for updates.

Disney has not specified why this pause was put in place. They simply noted that it was paused in a larger post sharing details about the 100th Anniversary. The 100th Anniversary celebration for the Disney Company will kick off on January 27th, 2023in Disneyland Resort, so it’s possible Disney is preparing for some things ahead of that date. It is interesting, however, to note that Disneyland’s holiday celebrations end on January 8th, 2023. It’s unclear whether that has had any impact on this though.
