XIII. Cách luyện tập đề thi IELTS Writing hiệu quả
1. Luôn lập dàn bài viết
Việc lập dàn ý là việc quan trọng nhất khi bắt đầu bài viết. Đặc biệt là trong IELTS Writing Task 2. Nếu không lập dàn bài ngay từ đầu, bạn sẽ gặp vô số khó khăn trong quá trình viết. Khi đang viết đến giữa chừng, có thể xảy ra tâm lý hoang mang. Liệu bài viết đã đúng ý tưởng chưa, hay có thể đang viết lạc đề. Như vậy, bạn sẽ tốn rất nhiều thời gian để check lại bài của mình. Do đó:

- Task 1: Nên ghi chú những ý chính phải viết. Ví dụ: ý chính của phần Overall, ý chính của phần thân bài.
- Task 2: Lập dàn bài chi tiết hơn trong cả mở, thân và kết bài. Khi lập dàn ý chi tiết sẽ tránh khỏi Task Response- một lỗi vô cùng lớn, khiến bài viết của bạn khó đạt điểm cao.
2. Luyện tập đều đặn dưới áp lực thời gian

- Khi luyện thi IELTS Writing đều đặn thời gian viết bài của bạn sẽ được cải thiện một cách đáng kể. Một khi đã đặt bản thân dưới áp lực thời gian sẽ làm bạn nghiêm túc hơn. Ví dụ, bấm giờ 40 phút cho việc viết Task 2, 15 phút dành cho Task 1. 5 phút còn lại chính là thời gian để kiểm tra bài viết.
- Thực hiện quá trình IELTS Writing một cách liền mạch, không ngắt quãng. Nếu bạn không tập trung, dễ dàng làm cho bài viết không mạch lạc, khó hiểu.
3. Kiểm tra bài Writing

- Tương tự như bên trên, nên dành ra 5 phút cuối cùng để kiểm tra lại bài thi Writing IELTS. Nhiều thí sinh vẫn chủ quan khi không tận dụng 5 phút cuối cùng để xem lại bài. Rất có thể trong quá trình làm đề thi, chúng ta gặp phải các lỗi cơ bản. Các lỗi đó rất đơn giản như: sai chính tả, cách sử dụng từ,… Khi thực hiện kiểm tra bài viết, bạn có cơ hội để tăng band điểm chỉ trong 5 phút thôi đó.
- Luyện tập thói quen dành 5 phút để kiểm tra lại bài viết ngay trong quá trình luyện thi IELTS.
4. Ghi nhớ các mẫu khi viết bài

- Việc sử dụng các mẫu để áp dụng vào đề thi Writing IELTS là một việc vô cùng cần thiết. Khi ở nhà luyện tập, hãy sưu tầm các mẫu bài thi. Trong quá trình thi, bạn chỉ cần áp dụng các mẫu này, tránh tình trạng hoang mang.
- Phần thi Introduction và Conclusion, bạn không cần viết quá hoa mỹ. Áp dụng mẫu sẽ giúp bạn tối đa hoá thời gian một cách nhanh chóng.
5. Nắm chắc từ vựng theo chủ đề

- Thiết kế ngay một sổ tay từ vựng theo chủ đề. Ví dụ chủ đề Environment hay Education,..Điều này rất hữu ích khi giúp bạn khoanh vùng được chủ đề, xử lý đề thi một cách nhanh chóng.
- Dừng lại ngay việc học từ vựng dàn trải. Trong trường hợp này bạn rất dễ mắc phải các vấn đề như: không nắm vững từ, cách sử dụng từ. Dẫn đến sai sót trong quá trình làm bài thi.
- Sưu tập các từ vựng theo chủ đề ngay trên mạng giúp bạn hoàn thiện sổ tay một cách nhanh chóng. Hoặc bạn có thể xem các từ vựng theo chủ đề do PREP biên soạn tại ĐÂY.
6. Nắm vững dạng bài thi IELTS Writing
Nắm rõ cách xử lý từng dạng bài trong Task 1 và Task 2. Khi nắm vững điều đó sẽ giúp bạn tránh khỏi việc sai đề và tốn thời gian.
7. Nắm vững bố cục đề thi IELTS Writing
Có khá nhiều thí sinh dù chuẩn bị bước vào kì thi thực chiến nhưng vẫn chưa nắm vững được bố cục bài thi IELTS Writing. Điều này gây ra tình trạng bài viết sẽ không có định hướng và trình tự không rõ ràng. Hậu quả dễ dàng nhận thấy nhất chính là lệch lạc về độ dài bài viết, logic bài thi.
