Why am I not getting 1 gigabit speed?

Check Your Router If you haven't already, running through the outlined steps could help. Make sure your router is new, well-placed, at the right frequency, and properly boosted (if it needs to be). This will make the difference between the speeds you're currently seeing and the speeds you could be receiving.

Why is my Ethernet only 100Mbps?

This is common. Incidents such as rolling over the cable with an office chair, or stepping on it, or closing a door on it, can all cause a Cat 5e cable to revert to 100 Mbps link speeds when it was previously working at Gigabit speeds. Try different ports on your access point (hub, switch, router).

Why is my PC capped at 100Mbps?

if your ethernet keeps going to 100Mbps, and the devices on either end support gigabit, (and any switches in between support gigabit), and you're not seeing any dropped packets or flaky connectivity, it's most likely your cable has an iffy connection.
