The draw for the qualifying stage of UEFA Euro 2024 takes places in Germany this weekend.
England and other European nations will take a pause from fine tuning their World Cup plans to discover their qualification opponents for the next European Championships, will take place just under two years from now.
Euro 2024 may seem a long way into the distance, but teams will only have a few weeks after the World Cup to prepare for the start of the qualifiers which begin next year.

When is Euro 2024?
The next Euros will start on June 14, 2024.
The 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship will end on July 14, 2024.
Which country is hosting Euro 2024?
Germany will host Euro 2024.
It is the first European Championship the country will host since 1988, and the first major tournament since the 2006 World Cup.
Germany beat off competition from Turkey to be awarded the tournament back in 2018.
The 2024 edition will be the first Euros to be held in a single country since France hosted the competition in 2016, with Euro 2020 staged across 11 nations to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the European Championships.
The German national team have won the Euros on three occasions, which is a joint-record alongside Spain.
When is the Euro 2024 qualifying draw?
The draw for the qualifying round of Euro 2024 will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
The draw will begin at 11am BST, with the ceremony held at the Festhalle Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt.
Which teams are taking part in qualifying and what are the pots?
A total of 53 teams will take part in qualification, with 24 teams qualifying for Euro 2024.
Germany have qualified automatically as hosts, while Russia have been prevented from taking part by UEFA following the invasion of Ukraine.
The 53 nations have been placed into seven pots, with the four Nations League finalists featuring in the UNL pot.
The other six pots have been arranged based on team performances during the 2022/23 Nations League group stage.
The countries will be drawn into ten groups, with Groups A-G containing five teams and Groups H-J featuring six.

When does qualifying for the Euros start?
Qualifying for Euro 2024 will start in March 2023 and last until November 2023.
The teams finishing first and second in their groups will qualify for Euro 2024.
The remaining three spots will be decided by the play-offs, which will feature 12 teams selected based on their performance in the 2022/23 Nations League.
The multi-round play-offs will be held in March 2024.
Which stadiums will be used in Euro 2024?
Nine of the ten venues selected to host matches at Euro 2024 were used during the 2006 World Cup.
Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena and Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park are amongst the stadiums chosen to stage matches during the tournament.

When is the Euro 2024 final?
The Euro 2024 final will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
The big match will be held at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
The famous 74,000 capacity venue hosted the FIFA World Cup final in 2006 and the UEFA Champions League final in 2015.
