Can I reserve a 2023 Maverick?

I asked the Maverick Marketing Team when interested customers can place a reservation for a 2023 Maverick order. Their response:
There will not be a reservation process for 23MY Maverick. The order banks and pricing will be announced on the same date in August at which point customers can work with their Ford dealer to place their 23MY Maverick retail order. To stay "in the know" on the 2023 Maverick, Ford recommends customers provide their information on Maverick’s vehicle home page via the “Get Updates” section shown below. This will also allow Ford to push the customer info to their local dealership when the order banks officially open.

Soooo ... my GUESS is they expect to have all 2022 Mavs built by then UNLESS the 2023 will be a duplicate of the 2022, just more expensive, which would mean not having to retool the assembly line for changes for 2023 so they build 22's and 23's together??

And, I add:

Will some 2023's be shipped before some 2022's IF they are not done making all the ordered 2022's?

I'm a little confused. Are they distinguishing between making a reservation and placing an order? The whole process is new to me, but I want to get in line when I can.

Good questions. I would guess that '23 non-hybrid base models COULD be available before '22 hybrid Lariat luxury models. I wonder what the differences are between a '22 & a '23? And if there's a significant loss or gain having to go to with one model year or another?

If they do, will some dealers try to up the price of the '22 to the '23 prices by saying "but it's not a 22, it's a 23"?

A reservation is a non binding "desire" to buy a vehicle. You go to Ford.com and "build" the vehicle you want. You will then be contacted by a dealer to go in and actually create an order.

I believe you are spot on. My understanding is Ford will do first-year reservations for new models. The following years are going by the "order bank" dates- like other models.

It doesn't matter when it is built, only matters what it is Titled as. When the Chevy Citation came out [around March, 1979] it was Titled a 1980, while all other models for several months were Titled 1979s.

23 production will not start until sometime in November for Mavericks. If it is built before then, it will be a 22. They are scheduling 22 through early November. My July 7, 2021 XLT Hybrid Lux CP360 order is scheduled for week of 8/29/22 to be built, hopefully it will not get pushed back again...

And were exactly do you get this information??? It is quite contradictory to what my dealer's Regional Manager said.

Our XLT EcoBoost FWD with mats and hitch only was scheduled for same week. Got news on Monday from Ford Chat and then on Tuesday from dealership it's now week of 9/12. Might give your dealer a ding-a-ling and find out. Maybe yours won't???

But then there is Ford that had a 64 1/2 Mustang and then introduced on April 17, 1969 as a 1970 model the Maverick.
