Topping DX7 Pro is a fully balanced DAC with a headphone amplifier built around the flagship DAC chip ES9038Pro Sabre by ESS Technology. Versatility and efficiency

Thanks to its design architecture and an amount of fitted inputs and outputs, Topping DX7 Pro is a versatile and efficient tool. Aforementioned many connectivity options make it ideal to use with an entire hi-fi system, not only for headphones setup,thanks to its support of high-sampling files and realistic sound reproduction.

The main difference between Topping DX7s and DX7 Pro is the DAC. The new model now includes the flagship ESS Technology ES9038Pro Sabre chip, which is more powerful and advanced than the ES9038Q2M from DX7. ES9038Pro sets a new benchmark for audio excellence with the industrys highest dynamic range [DNR], up to 140dB, in a 32-bit, 8-channel DAC offering an immersive listening experience bringing music to life. On top of that the new converter also features ESS patented 32-bit HyperStreamDAC technology with-122dB total harmonic distortion plus noise [THD+N]. The HyperStream architecture is responsible for both the outstanding sound quality of the ES9038 and the extremely low THD+N. A typical competitive, 32-Bit 8-Channel DAC using a delta-sigma architecture features-107dB THD+N [0.0004%], which when subjected to listening tests does not equal the clarity and sound stage of the ES9038PRO.

On the USB interface side, once again we find the second generation XMOS XU208 USB interface, well known to audiophiles and offering an exceptionally transparent sound. XU208 chip is a representative of the xCORE-200 Series by XMOS and is a 32-bit mulitcore microcontroller characterized by its low latency and timing determinism. Unlike conventional microcontrollers, XU208 is cabable of exectuing multiple real-time tasks simultaneously and communicate between tasks using a high speed network.

Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD / LDAC

Bluetooth 5.0 Qualcomm CSR8675 chip is a new feature in DX7 Pro. This type of communication is particularly convenient because it allows remote transmission directly from a smartphone or tablet, maintaining a high sound quality, because it supports aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD and LDAC codecs. These protocols allow for faster, more stable signal transmission, but also, especially in the case of LDAC, supports higher sampling rates because it is able to decode PCM streaming up to 24bit 96 kHz [24bit 48 kHz for aptX HD].

A rich set of inputs and outputs

In terms of connectivity, the DX7 Pro offers an extremely complete panel. The rear panel is fitted with USB-B [XMOS], optical I2S, coaxial, AES / EBU and a Bluetooth antenna. DX7 Pro offers balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs on the rear panel. The devices front panel has 6.35 mm headphone output, a balanced 4.4 mm jack and a balanced 4-pin XLR jack.

The circuit in DX7 Pro has been designed to be fully balanced. Thus, the analog section includes separate OPA 1612 operational amplifiers for each channel, and the headphone gain of each channel is assigned to the independent TPA6120A2 circuit.

DX7 Pro provides optimal headphone output performance thanks to the two TPA6112A2 amplifiers. Thus, it supports the highest quality files and has an amplifier that can support most audiophile headphones on the 4-pin balanced XLR output.

Thanks to this, the DX7 Pro offers lower sound coloring, and thus more accurate reproduction, very low distortion and high linearity. Music gains in dynamics, detail and neutrality.
