How to get back to classic desktop on Windows 10

I have upgraded my Win8 computer to Windows 10, but could not find any option to enable the classic view. The system keep booting into the classic windows desktop. When I open any app or software, it automatically goes full screen and app icons are missing in taskbar. The user interface are better suited to touch but not good when I use a physical keyboard and mouse to take control of that. How can I resolve the problem?

If you have enabled the tablet mode, disable it to get rid of such mode.
* Click the action center button in the bottom-right corner of your taskbar.
* Select the Tablet mode button to turn it off. That will take away the tiles and return to a PC-looking desktop.

If you want a classic start menu, the 3rd party software can help you resolve the problem. You could download classic shell and install it to do a few tweaks. Classic Shell offers the customizable start menu with multiple styles and skins for getting back classic experience.

However, the above methods might be not perfect for some users. I would like to have 3D effects that the classic view give. You could try another way which requires a bit of skill to do this.
* All you need to do is to run virtual machine by installing VMware Player or enable the Hyper-V feature.
* Within VMware Player, you can create a VM with Windows 7 operating system, and move all your old stuff from your old computer, then made the computer always boot up in this.
* To use the built-in Hyper-V technology, it requisites the 64-bit edition of Windows 10 Pro or Windows Enterprise, and also the CPU with SLAT support.
After you enable the Hyper-V Platform in Turn Windows features on or off, Windows 10 will restart and apply the changes.
Launch Hyper-V Manager, follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Virtual Machine. Then use an available Windows 7 ISO or DVD to install the OS. Once the installation is completed, boot it and transfer all of your old stuff to it. Now you are able to use the full Windows 7 classic view on your new PC.
