Subject: Best version of Windows Server 2008 R2 here
I downloaded many and many versions of Win 2008 R2 on other sites.
But this version is
the only one I can really use without any error. The best thing is this version is the only one I can installed VMWare Tools [after installing the update patch KB3033929].

Alright So I Was Searching for a Windows Server 2008 SP1 And This Was The Only One! This Was the Best And it Also Works With VMware! The Other ISO I Downloaded Was Not Able to Install VMware Tools. This One Does! And This is also 64-Bit. I Thought This Was a 32-Bit Installation. I Guess You need to Add "64-Bit" to The Title. I Haven't Tested This is a Physical Machine though [But I'm Perfectly Sure That It'll Work!].

IN COLLECTIONS
These ISOs are unmodified versions that were supplied to Technet Subscription subscribers.
Technet subscribers were given Microsoft license keys to use with the software but my uploads do not include license keys.
Microsoft terminated the Technet subscription programme in 2013.
I've supplied SHA1 hashes for all ISOs so you can check them against any other records from the time.
I hope these are useful for individuals or companies who have license keys and need to reinstall old but functional software rather than purchase new licenses.
A guide to the filenames:
- N edition: Satisfies a European Commission ruling by excluding bundled media software.
- KN edition: Satisfies a Korean Fair Trade Commission ruling by excluding bundled media software and includes links to competing media and messaging software.
- K edition: Satifies a Korean Fair Trade Commission ruling by including links to competing media and messaging software.
- x86 - 32bit version
- x64 - 64bit version
- SP1,SP2,SP3 - This ISO is the full version of the software including a pre-applied Service Pack, i.e. the ISO isn't just a Service Pack.

Subject: Bad ISO File
I have installed this in a Virtual Machine and Windows Update sends an error code to me which is 0x80072EFE. Even Microsoft Update files won't install their updates, warns me that the update is not applicable for my computer. Even I installed this on a physical server to see if this is a VM issue [I was going to do it anyway, so no time wasted] and it still does that. This isn't a great Windows Server 2008 R2 ISO file. Look at several more listings for good reviews, then try it.

Event Viewer, this error has been happening a lot...
Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: with error: A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.
Also this OS has the Windows Update Error 80072EFE.
Downloaded updates that are apparently for Windows Web Server 2008 R2 can't be installed, also the DotNet 4.6 can't be installed either.

Subject: Makes For A Powerful OS
One can use this build as a full feature operating system with some setting changes. Windows Server 2008 R2 is built on the same build as Windows 7 Build 7601, SP1. It is also better suited for higher end hardware.
