I agree about the trying for a something a little more laid back. What about a Liquid Spark stack? The Chord Mojo is a neat suggestion. It is small and will work with iDevices. Its sound may be a little on the aggressive side for what I'd want for bedside listening. Maybe. If you have a Chord dealer nearby where you can try out a Mojo with the Senn headphones then you'll know if it is too aggressive for you or bedside use. I have one. It's fine but not recommended for headphones with very low impedance. If the impedance of your HPs is 300 ohm it's no problem for the DX3 Pro LDAC. If you want one, buy from Apos Audio, you get a free 2 year warranty and great customer service, plus they price match with anyone, even Drop. That said for listening to music in bed I probably wouldn't choose a desktop DAC product. I'd get a small DAP player that can take MicroSD cards, that works well with your headphones. I don't have a specific recommendation as I use my LG V40 Phone for this purpose. Maybe if you could pick up a used V20 or V30, then install Neutron and use that. If you are just using the phone for music and wi-fi web browsing you don't need to buy a data plan or cell service. Might be better than a lot of cheaper DAPs out there. The DAC/HP amp functionality in these phones has been bench tested and does very well.
