Opting for the gas-engined XL changes the Maverick's outputs to 250 hp and 277 lb-ft and gives you access to all-wheel drive. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard here. When equipped with AWD, the gas Maverick can equip the optional 4K Tow Package, which enables a towing capacity of up to 4,000 lbs, and adds a seven-pinch connector and trailer-hitch receiver, as well as an upgraded drive ratio, cooling fan, a high-capacity radiator, transmission oil cooler, and a trailer brake controller. Naturally, opting for the gas variant doesn't do your fuel economy any favors, and gas mileage ranges from 23/30/26 mpg with FWD to 22/29/25 mpg.
